Khare, research assistant professor and research director for the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities, discussed initiatives aimed at assisting low-income residents get into affordable housing. “I would be most concerned about the transition in services for residents who had not only a disruption in their housing because they were forced to move out of their housing, but then they had a disruption in the kinds of ongoing supportive services intended to help them stay stable,� Khare said. “That disruption in human support can lead to residents again not trusting and questioning whether or not these programs are ultimately really meant to benefit them.�
