Associate Professor Scott Pelok has been awarded a Nord Grant for his most recent research project.

Extended Reality (ER) is becoming a powerful tool in dental education, offering immersive learning experiences. It allows students to interact with virtual models, helping them understand complex systems and practice procedures like restorative and surgical techniques early in their careers. ER also supports collaboration, improves accessibility and standardizes assessments.

Dr. Pelok's project builds on the "Jaws in Motion" HoloLens program by developing guidelines for using Meta Quest augmented reality headsets during instructor demonstrations. The goal is to make the technology more user-friendly for faculty, evaluate streaming capabilities for classroom use and gather student feedback to improve usability.
