What to Expect
During your four years at Case Western Reserve, you'll study in our state-of-the-future with Cleveland Clinic, where you'll learn alongside nursing, dental and physician assistant students. This approach, called interprofessional education, is a hallmark of our MD program鈥攑reparing you for the team-based health care you'll practice in the real world.
That same level of innovation translates to our courses. Our Western Reserve2 Curriculum is a learner-centered and self-directed framework that fosters scientific inquiry and excitement.
For your first two years, you鈥檒l be a part of an InQuiry (IQ) team鈥攁 small, student-centric learning group that uses elaborate patient cases and discussion to learn, retain, synthesize and integrate knowledge. Years three and four are predominantly dedicated to clinical training and research.
The program as a whole combines independent study with group practice so you can become an effective physician-scholar upon graduation, ready to create a lasting impact in the medical community and beyond.
